TRANSNATIONAL GAP ANALYSIS NAUTICAL QUALIFICATIONS AND MODAL SHARE PROMOTION- The main objective of this document is to identify the existing gaps at transnational level in the Danube Region with regard to the mandatory implementation of the EU Directive on the recognition of professional qualifications in inland navigation, based on the 8 national reports on gap analysis and impact evaluations performed in 8 Danube riparian countries: DE, AT, SK, HR, RS, HU, BG and RO. In addition to above countries, the gap analysis on nautical qualifications was also performed for Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova.

SAFETY PRACTICES IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS DURING SHIP OPERATION MODULE I – SAFETY OF WORK- These course notes are a teaching support both for trainers who will be involved in training of such course module, and the trainees as learning aids in order to facilitate the learning process. The main objective of this course compendium is to provide practical guidance on safety and health on board the vessels with a view to preventing accidents, diseases and other harmful effects on the health of inland navigation personnel arising from employment on board inland navigation vessels.

SAFETY PRACTICES IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS DURING SHIP OPERATION MODULE II – MEDICAL FIRST AID- These course notes were designed both for trainers who will be involved in training of such training module and the trainees as learning aids in order to facilitate the learning process. The main objective of these training course is to provide practical guidance for trainers and trainees to administer medical first aid and to be able to apply true emergency measures on board the vessels and decide when treatment can be safely delayed until more skilled personnel arrive.

The main objective of this course compendium is to provide practical guidance on safety and on board the vessels for crew members which have to meet the minimum standard of competence in personal survival techniques.

SAFETY PRACTICES IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS DURING SHIP OPERATION MODULE IV – FIRE FIGHTING- These course notes were designed both for trainers who will be involved in training of such training module and the trainees as learning aids in order to facilitate the learning process. The main objective of this course compendium is to provide practical guidance on fire prevention and fire fighting with a view to preventing accidents and to ensure safety of the crew and of the vessels arising from fire prevention and fire fighting during operations of inland vessels.

The main objective of this course compendium is to provide practical guidance for trainers and trainees to protect the environment and to be able to apply emergency measures during pollution accidents or incidents during navigation on inland waterways.

This course compendium will be a useful transnational training tool for conducting the Train the trainer session and is intended to assist education and training providers and their teaching staff in organizing and introducing new education & training programmes, or in enhancing, updating and supplementing existing didactical materials with the ultimate end results of raising quality and effectiveness of the education & training programmes.
