The manual presents general ideas and technologies / applications supporting RIS and it is free of charge. The publication first presents the concept of RIS and the national and European context in which it was developed. The chapters describe the support technologies used in this field, then the basic and advanced RIS services and applications which currently exist. The paper also contains a detailed description of the RIS systems in Romania as well as an analysis of the development perspectives of this field at national and international level.
